Chris Martin
Christopher Stewart Martin (b. 10 December 1974) is a New Zealand cricketer. A right-arm fast-medium bowler, Martin plays provincial cricket for Auckland formerly playing for the Canterbury Wizards. Martin is one of 11 New Zealand Test cricketers to have taken 100 wickets. Although predominantly a Test bowler, Martin moved back into contention for one-day internationals after International Cricket Council rule changes permitted substitutions during games. Although the rule has since been revoked, Martin has remained on the fringes of the ODI squad and was called up to the New Zealand World Cup 2007 squad as a replacement for the injured Daryl Tuffey. Martin bats at number 11 and is infamous for his lack of ability with the bat. Martin is one of a select group of cricketers whose statistics of wickets taken (101) surpass runs scored (52). Although he didn't play in the world cup, Martin was named NZ cricket best domestic bowler on 16 May 2007 for the 2006/2007 season.
